Your choice of student accommodation includes both on-campus and off-campus buildings. You will live as part of a vibrant community of students from all over the world and benefit from dedicated INTO China student support to help settle in to living in China.

About the accommodation

Students can choose from two accommodation options whilst studying at DUFE:

• International student accommodation on campus – Qiushi Building
• Off-campus – Ruan Jing E Ju
• Off-campus – Dalian Design City Accommodation

On-campus accommodation – Qiushi Building

About the on-campus accommodation

DUFE on-campus accommodation is a popular choice with international students as it is conveniently located in the west of DUFE’s campus, and within 10 minutes’ walk of most shops, canteens, and the teaching buildings.

The accommodation is exclusive to international students and is a great place to meet and make new friends. On-campus accommodation is great value and offers new students a convenient environment to adapt to life at DUFE.

Room facilities

Twin rooms

• Studio flat
• Approximate total room area: 18m/sq
• 2 single beds
• Bed size: 110cm x 190cm
• Daily rent: RMB 45
• En-suite open plan shower
• 24-hour hot water
• Includes TV, closet, desk and chair
• Utilities fee: included in rent (limited electricity*)
• Broadband: RMB 30 per month (LAN/Wi-Fi)

Single rooms

• Studio flat

* The university operates an energy saving policy across the whole campus, which includes on-campus accommodation. Each room has an electricity limit per room to limit energy and power waste. In normal situations, students don’t usually exceed the stipulated limit.

Accommodation amenities

The Quishi building offers the following communal facilities:

• Kitchens on the 2nd floor and 4th floor (includes refrigerators, microwave and electric stove)
• Self-study room on the 3rd floor
• Drying area on the 3rd floor
• 2 washing machines on the 1st floor (washing machine card-operated)
• Heating will be provided from November – April each year

The main door of the accommodation building will be closed each day at 10:30pm for safety, however students can purchase a door access card to access the building after this time.

Students are required to clean their rooms themselves. A room cleaning service every 3 weeks is available on request, which is organised by the university.

Costs

Accommodation can be rented for a variety of periods, to accommodate differing lengths of academic study and requirements.

Additional Costs

• Washing machine card: ¥50RMB (¥15RMB card deposit and
  ¥35RMB washing machine credit: 10 washes) or ¥100RMB
  (¥15RMB card deposit and ¥85RMB washing machine credit:
  ¥25RMB washes).
• Accommodation front door access card (to access the building
  after closing time): ¥50RMB deposit.
• Room key: ¥50RMB deposit.

Off-campus accommodation – Ruan Jing E Ju

About the off-campus accommodation

DUFE off-campus accommodation is also a popular choice for students who are looking for an alternative to living on the DUFE campus. The accommodation is located at the Dalian Software Park, approximately 15 minutes’ walk from the main DUFE campus. With a private kitchen, modern facilities and surrounded by a variety of Western and Chinese shops, cafés and restaurants, this accommodation option is ideal for international students.

Accommodation is available on a single or twin room basis.

Accommodation can be rented for a variety of periods, to accommodate differing lengths of academic study and requirements.

• Utility costs
  Water: ¥3.1RMB/ton
• Electricity: ¥0.5RMB/kwh (Electricity has limit usage in Dalian. Users have to pay ¥0.8RMB/kwh for the exceeding units, 280 units limit for each month).

Water and electricity are paid according to the amount shown on the room’s water and electricity meters at the start and end of the semester. This cost can be deducted from the deposit. If the contract is for one year, the student has to pay for the bills every two months.

Internet and television

• Internet: ¥100RMB/month
• Television: ¥24RMB/month, payment has to be made for one year – ¥288RMB

Off-campus – Dalian Design City Accommodation

The accommodation is located at the Dalian High-tech District approximately 15 minutes from the main DUFE campus by light rail. The accommodation provides a private kitchen, modern facilities and it is really close to Wanda shopping centre where students can find restaurants, a cinema, cafés etc. This accommodation option is ideal for international students.

Dalian Design City Accommodation has two categories of rooms: single and twin.
