English for University Purposes (EUP)
Acadia also offers English language studies programs, one of which is English for University Purposes (EUP) studies. Acadia's EUP program is for students who have been accepted by Acadia into a degree program, but do not have the required TOEFL score. This class prepares you for the high level of English you will need for your degree program at Acadia. Students receive 25 hours a week of English instruction. EUP instructors will teach you the reading, writing, speaking, and listening skills you will need for the academic classroom.
Acadia University’s Open Acadia division strives to make learning accessible to everyone. The distance learning program offers over 80 self paced, start any time distance education courses in the arts, sciences, and professional studies. Students have the option of taking most courses through either print based correspondence or online. Acadia’s distance learning courses are of the highest calibre and are taught by current or retired faculty and professionals with expertise in the area of study.

Requirements
All programs require completion of senior high school for admission. Applications will be screened at a minimum 70% average for all programs. Some programs with more limited enrolment require applicants to have a minimum overall average of 75% for admission. All Applicants must have Grade 11 Academic or Advanced Mathematics, Grade 12 English, and at least two to three other Academic Grade 12 courses for admission.
Requirements for International Students
Admission requirements differ depending on the student's educational system. If applying from the British system of education, normally two General Certificate of Education "A" level examinations or equivalent, at the Grade "C" level or above are required for admission to any program. An applicant who has completed one year of study beyond GCE "O" level will be considered on an individual basis. Students applying from the American system of education should have a "B" average and a letter of recommendation from the school principal, guidance counsellor, or a teacher is recommended. Please Note: These requirements are broad guidelines for international students. We assess each application on an individual basis, taking other relevant background information into consideration. Admission to programs is competitive and possession of the minimum requirements does not guarantee admission to Acadia University. Recognized as one of the best undergraduate universities in Canada, Acadia University is home to more than 500 international students from over 50 different countries each year.
